Get half-dollar rolls from the bank. you occasionaly find silver for face value. Hard to beat that.

Although I like eBay, I am prone to checking my local “gold and jewelry exchange” type store which there seems to be three of four of near me. I save on shipping and can actually “hold the goods” before purchasing.

I found BullionDirect.com to be the best place. They sell often for below spot price and you can get bags as low as $10 face. Last time I ordered I did get charged a handling fee but it was so low that I still got the entire price for less than the spot price.

I personally like to add (NOT ADVERTISING) what I’ve found to be good deals (SHOP YOURSELF, NOT ENDORSING), I’ve not actually used them because never enough money, but otherwise good according to Hommel’s “no more than 7% above spot” standard. Low shipping too.
